Is it "Talk Like a Pirate Day?"

Our Thanksgiving weekend was a whirlwind of family time.  We loved it!  Thanksgiving day was spent in Moberly, Friday was spent at my parents house, Saturday was a day with the Peterson family, and Sunday was church/lunch with both sides of the family!  We squeezed as much time as possible in with Doug and Sandi (my inlaws) before they headed back to Florida!

Of course, no Thanksgiving weekend would be complete without a little shopping on Black Friday!  This is just what we set out to do Friday morning around 9:00.  (A respectable time really...I will say that NONE of the deals were left by that time...just some general % off for your purchase.  That helped the final bill for sure!)  The shopping group consisted of my dad, my mother in law, my sister Amy and me!  (Might seem random to some, but not to our family!  You see, my inlaws stay with my parents when they come in to town!)  My mom had told me that Mike could bring the kids over any time that morning, and we were going to be back by 1:00 for lunch.  Perfect plan, huh?

So...it's around 10:00 and Amy gets a text from my mom.  It reads, "Arghhhh, Mike and the kids just got here!"  Now, I see this text and immediately go into toddler brat mode...tantrum style.  I say, "If Mom didn't want the kids there that early, she should have been more specific, etc."  My dad tells me to be nice...that makes me more mad!  My mother in law says she's sure that my mom said for my family to come whenever, she doubts that my mom is upset.  Basically, I listen to no one, continue to look at the tervis cups and try not to cry.  (How ridiculous and dramatic, I know!  I wish I could say it was because I had been out shopping all night, but I actually had a full night's sleep!)

Meanwhile, Amy texts my mom back saying, "Sarah saw that text!"  (Probably also mentioned my tantrum...sheesh!)  We get a text back...she and Mike are laughing...(is it "Talk like a pirate day?" and I don't know it?)  What is so funny about all of this???  Basically, she had sent a text to Amy that was jibberish (text #1...that I didn't see!)  She then sent the "ahhhhh" text, which came across as "arghhh."  This was an auto correct fiasco...the whole time she was only trying to tell us that Mike and the kids had arrived, everything was situated on the home front, and to keep shopping!  Auto correct had nearly ruined our day!

Thank goodness I have a family that forgives my tantrums and less than perfect self!  We all need grace...I was reminded to give it and to accept it that day!

Here are a few pics from our family weekend whirlwind!  Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!  And into Christmas we go!
